Simplified Explanation

This is a when one of the lenses making up the eye is displaced (luxated) within the eye but still close to where it should be (subluxated). Vision problems such as near-sightedness or far-sightedness may result; although there may be no perceived vision problems depending on the degree to which the lens is displaced.

Treatment

Depending on how far the lens has displaced, if it is continuing to displace, and if it is causing any vision problems, the treatments may range from no corrective action to drugs to stop the movement of the lens to surgery to correct lens location. Treatment will need to be discussed with an ophthalmologist.
